Escape to Paris this Autumn
Categories : Exhibitions and Museums, published on : 10/4/17
Your team at the Chess Hotel has selected an array of original and exciting events for autumn to make your stay in Paris exceptional. Here are some of our suggestions to take you away from the crowds and the well-beaten paths.
Portrait of a Passionate Traveller
The Musée Guimet, a temple dedicated to Asian art in a magnificent 16th arrondissement mansion is our first stop. From December 6, 2017 to March 12, 2018, one of the temporary exhibitions will focus on the illustrious character who gave his name to the museum, Émile Guimet. It will also feature the painter and illustrator, Félix Régamey who accompanied him during his "Vagabond Surveys "in the Far East. These two very different personalities had little in common apart from their innate curiosity and their shared respect for remote and exotic cultures, religions and aesthetics – as the many canvases, photos, drawings and sketches on display testify.
For fans of the video game
Before enjoying the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the Musée Guimet, immerse yourself in a blast of light, vibrant colours and movement by participating in the 8th edition of Paris Games Week, or #PGW for the initiated. Contests between the world's best players, demonstrations, the introduction of new trends and technologies and virtual reality – great times await newbies and games enthusiasts. Celebrate the video game in all its forms at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre from 1 to 7 November – book your places today!
Whether you fancy a very "classical" stay or whether you'd like to discover unique and original events, our Chess Hotel team is ready to help you organise a Parisian break that's tailored to your needs.
