The theme of contemporary art certainly takes over in Paris during the first week of April. Two main events will take place at the same time, one at the Grand Palais, (the Art Paris Art Fair, from April 4 to 7), and the other at the Tuileries, (PAD Paris, from 3 to 7 April).
A meeting place for contemporary art fans - Art Paris Art Fair
This year's edition of the Art Paris Art Fair will take place under the magnificent glass dome of the Grand Palais. 150 galleries from 20 countries exhibit their best selections of modern and contemporary art. After Africa last year, South America will be honoured this time with 'Star of the South'. 60 artists and 8 nationalities, you're invited on a journey filled with Latin rhythms and colours. Don't forget the great classics of the Art Paris Art Fair: The Solo Show which focus on an artist, and the Promises sector which showcases 14 young galleries and their emerging artists.
Art and Design lovers will go to PAD
A few steps from the Grand Palais, the Tuileries Gardens will host the PAD, a unique event dedicated to collectors of objects and art. Jewels, curiosities, primitive arts and design, you'll enjoy an initiatory journey filled with beauty, aesthetic aspirations and emotion. It is also the place where trends are set and where decorators, interior designers and designers find inspiration. Whether you plan a simple walk past various exhibits or whether you'd like to take an expert look at unique objects and works, the PAD is the place to discuss and exchange ideas. At the beginning of April, Paris will be more than ever a centre of contemporary art. Come and discover the latest trends, feel the wind of inspiration or invest in promising artists and designers.
