Hot on the heels of the Men's Fashion and Haute Couture collections in January, Paris Fashion Week's women's shows take place from February 26th, until March 6th. Add the dates to your planner now!
The essential event for fashion fans
New York, London, Milan – and Paris, which is still the most important Fashion Week. The event began in France in 1973 and made it possible for the biggest design houses to present up to 6 collections per year. On this year's programme you'll find shows hosted by top designers like Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga and Mugler. You'll also discover couture's rising stars and new talents and get to see the world's most famous models in action. Finally, and most importantly, you'll be among the first to glimpse the latest trends in dresses, jackets, separates and accessories. Each piece is a product of the fertile imagination of its designer – innovative, original and daring.
Snag your seat
It's not always that easy to get into the shows. Some of the most famous places in the French capital are likely to host shows, but venues are kept secret until the last moment. However, we do know that certain establishments such as the Louvre Oratory, the Grand Palais, the Wagram Hall, the Institute of the Arab World and the Georges Pompidou Centre open their doors to the event each year. However, only the lucky owners of an invitation card will be admitted to these hallowed places. If you don't have that precious invite, you'll have to resort to stealth and imagination to gain access. If you succeed, you'll be rewarded by the intoxicating slam of stiletto heels on the wooden catwalk, the electric crackle of flashbulbs, the air of anticipation, the rustle of silk and tulle and the exquisite curve of a dress or the elegant subtlety of simple lines. An emotional and beautiful experience.
