The opening of the Yves Saint-Laurent Museum

On October 3, the Yves Saint-Laurent Museum officially opened its doors at 5 Avenue Marceau in Paris, in the very place where the couturier and Pierre Bergé established their fashion house. Go along and delve into the world of a visionary.
The artist's domain
Dresses, jewels, sketches, patterns, there is even a nameplate and glasses; the museum has faithfully re-created the working environment in this beautiful mansion as it was in 1974. The offices and workshops are based on the Yves Saint-Laurent fashion house originals. The designer's desk has been identically reconstructed, lots of drawings dot the walls according to the vision of the museum who wanted to show the designers creations and prototypes in the same space – just as they once were. Now open, you can wander the corridors and rooms admiring dazzling dresses as you imagine what the atmosphere was like not so long ago when this was a working studio.
A whirlwind of beauty
And, one can easily imagine the door to the master's office being open, the purr of the sewing machines in the workshop, the seamstresses with needles in their mouths as they make last-minute adjustments to the glamorous gowns that will be the stars of the next show. Beautifully detailed dresses are exhibited with grace and you can also see the designer's drawings, sketchbooks and notes or be entranced by photographs of his favourite models on the catwalk. You'll be surrounded by so much beauty at this new museum that you'll feel, just for a moment, as if you've shared a special moment with the famous couturier.
